The value and benefit of professional teeth cleaning for your smile’s lasting health and beauty!
Cleaning your teeth consistently and diligently is fundamental to your oral health. But only brushing your teeth at home is not sufficient. For lasting oral health, you must visit your friendly and forward-thinking team at Innovative Dental Care in Omaha, Nebraska. Our team, led by Dr. Summer Gutschow, has the expertise and tools to remove those substances responsible for tooth loss. A standard toothbrush and floss cannot eliminate the likes of stubborn bacterial plaque. These professional cleaning visits also allow our team to assess your needs and make those recommendations that lead to more effective cleaning at home or when you can’t be at our relaxing practice.
Lastly, no regular 6-month visit would be complete without your dentist taking a peek inside your mouth to assure that problems are not lurking underneath the surface. The trouble with many oral conditions is that they often are “silent” or do not produce symptoms until they have progressed to the stage where damage is present and may be irreparable. Additionally, even if symptoms are present, it may be quite easy to overlook them in their earliest stages, thinking that a bit of blood on the toothbrush or a minor increased sensitivity is not a “big deal.” With Dr. Gutschow’s expertise and advanced diagnostic technologies, we can detect “hidden” enamel erosion or other early-stage conditions and intervene with those problems before they cause painful or disruptive symptoms. We preserve your smile, health, and wellbeing with proactive preventive care!
What to expect
If you are otherwise healthy and do not have risk factors for problems like gum disease or oral cancer, our team will clean and examine your mouth once every six months. These check-ups generally start with your sharing any changes to your health in the past six months since the previous appointment that may affect your oral health. Our hygienists will then use specialized instruments to gently lift surface stains, bacteria, plaque, and tartar from the teeth and gum line. We’ll also check the health of your gums by measuring the pockets between the teeth and gums. These spaces can be indicative of gum disease. Recommendations may also be made on products to help clean the likes of hard-to-reach areas. Lastly, our patients love how minty-fresh their mouth feels after a nice polish!
Patients with active gum disease may benefit from a “deep cleaning.” We also have several sophisticated tools on site, such as laser dentistry, to support the most comfortable and gentle experience treating gums. To find out more about what to expect during these treatments, feel free to call us! You can reach Innovative Dental Care at (402) 933-8005. Our office is conveniently along the West Dodge Corridor.
We look forward to showing you around and getting to know you and your family!
